Generate BAS Summary Report as Excel

InstantReceipts lets you generate a BAS Summary report as an Excel spreadsheet, mapped to the ATO's Business Activity Statement labels (G1-G20, W1, W2, 1A, 1B, 5B). The Excel format is useful when you want to review or adjust figures before lodging.

Prerequisites

  • You have recorded expenses and income in the system
  • You have access to the Reports page
  • Your transactions are tagged with the correct tax codes

Outcome

  • BAS figures mapped to ATO labels in an editable spreadsheet
  • Adjust figures before lodging if needed

Steps

Navigate to Reports

Go to your dashboard, click Reports in the main navigation, then click the Tax & Compliance tab.

Select BAS Summary

Select "BAS Summary" as your report type.

Select Your Date Range

Choose the reporting period that matches your BAS lodgment - typically a financial quarter.

Click Excel

Click the Excel button. Generation starts immediately and you will be notified when your report is ready.

Download Your BAS Summary

Once ready, download the Excel file from the Generated Reports section.

Preview Your BAS Summary Excel Report

Once downloaded, open the spreadsheet to view your BAS Summary figures mapped to each ATO label for the selected period. Cross-check every figure carefully, adjust anything that needs correcting directly in the sheet, then use it to complete your BAS lodgment or share with your accountant.

Troubleshooting

Please select the date range error

Choose a financial quarter (Q1-Q4) or enter both a start and end date for a custom range before generating.

Figures look off

Verify all transactions for the period are correctly categorised, tagged with the right tax code, and not left pending or in draft.
